HISTORY

I started out as a church drummer at the age of 14, where I played drums on a old Premier drumkit. After about 7 years I ended up as a gospel drummer, playing in various venues and did that for about 12 years. During that time I joined a pop music band(Deluxe), for weddings, festivals, clubs and bars. and we have grown to become one of the most sought-after bands in the region.

After 11 years we seperated and I  joined a pop/rock band Diezl where we entered a compatition called the Clash of the coverbands. Here we won first prize and have had many great performances since. I have worked on this project of and on for about 15 years.:

During that time I started Kinda Black: "the Urban Dance Experience" with 6 dancers and a professional cheorgafer.

This was a project that was entirely focused on the modern live shows of, among others, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake,  Rihanna and Destiny's Child.  It was the largest project I had done up to that point.  That project lasted for about 12 years:

Before the time I played with Diezl, I came into contact with Jos Zoomer (drummer of the legendary Dutch rock/metal band Vandenberg) and was the first drummer to introduce the well known rototoms. A world-class drummer who toured with Kiss and Ozzy Osborne as the opening act in America and Japan. I spent many hours with him, drumming together and getting to learn a lot of techniques from him. Besides that, I heard many insider stories about how touring and studio projects went in those days.  And to this day he is still a good friend of mine.

I have also had the opportunity to work on many studio projects, ranging from drumming to vocals. Due to a highschool friend who was a soundengineer, working for television and had his own studio, we were able to record some things ourselves, like the song: "Is this Love"  by Whitesnake. Recorded at Top studio in 1994.
